Wynn Resorts filed a trademark application for NFTs and Metaverse services.

Wynn Resorts, the Las Vegas-based hotel and casino chain, filed the trademark application to develop and launch multiple services in the Metaverse and the NFTs ecosystem.

Wynn Resorts Limited is a corporation founded in October 2002 by former Mirage Resorts President and CEO, Stephen A. Wynn. It is currently engaged in developing and operating multiple luxury hotels and casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada and have filed a trademark application to create and promote various services through Web3 technology such as the Metaverse and non fungible tokens (NFTs).

Specifically, Wynn Resorts filed a total of six trademarks for “Wynn” and “Desert Inn” to include in its products two technologies that are being used by the world’s largest and best known brands (NFTs and Metaverso).

The applications were filed with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) on March 17, 2023 and the objective is to provide retail store services developed in the metaverse, including virtual goods such as casino chips, gaming tables, slot machines, drinking items, clothing and other accessories.

Another intention of one of the largest hotel and casino companies in the United States is to develop virtual environments to allow users to visit resorts, bars and restaurants, but also to use the services of the casinos that will be created through the Metaverse.

The trademark application filed by Wynn Resorts also expresses the desire to develop an online marketplace for NFTs where users can buy, sell and exchange different types of non-fungible digital assets authenticated by this decentralized technology.

However, Wynn Resort is not the first casino and hotel chain to show interest in Web3, the Metaverse and NFTs. In September 2022, PokerGo announced the creation of its “Genesis NFT” collection in partnership with the NFT Stadium company.

In addition, Gratitude Hotelsa hotel chain in Cuba, has also created a unique experience through membership passes via non-fungible tokens with its “Gratitude NFT Series” collection and its own native token.

Finally, BetOnline, one of the world’s largest online casino, poker and sports betting platforms, became the first to accept a cryptocurrency such as ApeCoin, as a payment method a year ago.
