Writing NFTs What is it?

With non-fungible token technology, writers can monetize their work, as NFTs can be created, published and experimented with in ways that traditional media cannot.

As I mentioned, until the creation of NFTs, it was not possible to obtain collectibles in the form of digital texts. Today, with the development of the web3 and therefore NFTs, with a few clicks, writers can convert texts, articles, blogs, digital autographs, novels, poems, etc., into non-fungible tokens to connect directly with their audience in innovative ways, since they can create communities around the authors of these texts, whatever their form.

The web3 has brought and will bring resources that had not happened before. In this case, for writers, the way to easily customize their launch strategy is at hand to leverage the creation of content to their fans and effectively take advantage of all the resources of the web3.

Writers will be able to write NFTs and turn them into whatever they want, from digital memories to digital souvenirs, and this is thanks to the fact that the non-fungible tokens will live forever within the blockchain.

In addition, they will be able to offer an asset with full digital durability that they have not had access to until now.

Currently, there are no platforms that specialize in minting NFTs scripts. A simple solution at this time is to take a picture of the text and then mint it as an image file (PNG, JPEG, etc.). At Zora y Foundation poems have already been created in this way.

Mirroris a web3 publishing project for writers. It offers layer two (L2) scaling solutions from Optimism. This is a good way to create writing NFTs for free and also allows you to interact with thousands of people affordably with an L2.

Cent.co presented in July of this year its project called Cent Pagesa premium NFT publishing platform built on the Polygon network. The system is not only for writers, it also offers free audience management and content distribution tools.

Another platform that became known after ETH Latam here in Buenos Aires was Lens Protocol, developed on the Polygon blockchain. Lens created Lenstera decentralized social networking application where people can create and collect different posts as NFT. It looks too much like a twitter, but on the web3!

Zangis another NFT platform for texts built on Polygon. Don’t be scared by the user interface, it’s not that it loaded the page wrong, but it’s a project designed in a minimalist way and supports HTML + CSS creations, two tools that are commonly used to create web pages.

Evolution of NFTs writing platforms

Although several platforms related to the writing of NFTs are already being created and developed on the web3 with different blockchains, the reality is that the projects are still in their infancy. Undoubtedly, they will evolve as time goes by.

Some missing features for an NFT writing platform could be:

  • Multi-chain support: choose on which chain to mint the NFT (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, etc).

  • Customized mining1:1 collections or collections of more than one NFT.

  • Image and Text MintingThe NFT text can be created in NFT accompanied by a featured image.

  • Text editor: a text editor with tools such as font types, sizes, paragraph breaks, styles, etc. can be provided.

  • Native MarketplaceNative Marketplace: to provide an integrated marketplace, so that people can trade their acquired NFTs and achieve a secondary marketplace for direct sales between users within the platform.

  • Profile personalizationAllow creators to customize their profiles according to their creations for effective segmentation of collections/series of texts in order to create better visibility of their works.

Conclusions

This niche will undoubtedly bring many writers and text creators of different kinds to innovate using non-fungible token technology. In time, we will see which platforms will bring solutions 100% dedicated to this industry.

As a writer I feel it is a new way to expand the art of writing. We usually see how NFT collections are traded for millions of dollars and offer different benefits to their holders. In this way, writers in addition to offering their texts, notes, articles, blogs, etc., will be able to segment their communities through access to events or exhibitions of their literary works with the aim of providing their fans with a unique and exclusive space, since I believe that NFTs must have a usability beyond the digital asset.
