The company announces the launch of its Web3 loyalty program called “Starbucks Odyssey,” based on the coffee shop’s NFTs.
The world’s most popular coffee company is entering the Web3 field with a novel strategy, which is currently in beta phase and its main objective is to develop new ways of connecting with its customers.
“Starbucks Odyssey” is the name of its loyalty program based on non-fungible tokens, and is expected to be launched in 2023. This program, which was officially announced by the coffee company in September, is combined with the company’s current loyalty model, “Starbucks Rewards”, with the aim of offering customers exclusive access to experiences and rewards through coffee-themed NFTs.
Among some of the benefits, in addition to the possibility of getting free coffees, is the possibility of being chosen for visits to the company’s coffee farms. This platform is based on Polygon’s blockchain layer 2.
Days ago, the company made a publication on its official website announcing that the Starbucks Odyssey beta experience has been launched for a small group of waitlist members, which includes some U.S. Starbucks customers, partners and employees.
Those who have been selected can participate inStarbucks Odyssey Journey’s, which are interactive activities to earn NFT collectibles and Odyssey Points, which can unlock access to new benefits and exclusive brand experiences.
This new experience launched by Starbucks, consists of the possibility to participate in various interactive activities called “Journeys“. After completing a journey, members will earn collectible travel stamps in the form of NFTs and Odyssey Points.
Starbucks Odyssey is an experience that sets itself apart from the rest, with a digital community where members can meet, interact, and share their passion for coffee. In this sense, the company is using various Web3 technology tools to reward members in a new way, including NFT’s that can be used as an access to unique Starbucks experiences and benefits.
This platform was launched on Thursday, December 8 for an initial group of testers selected from a waiting list. New testers will be selected in January before adding new features.
Users can accumulate points while purchasing products at the company’s branches. When they reach 500 points, they can obtain a “stamp” consisting of an NFT, which in turn will give them access to unlock new immersive experiences.
There will be three levels of experiences and benefits, in addition to thousands of points and NFT’s, which could lead consumers to the possibility of attending events and even winning an all-inclusive trip to a coffee farm in Costa Rica.
Starbucks Rewards members are some of the brand’s most loyal customers, and through Starbucks Odyssey is the next innovative tool to recognize the most loyal customers, surprise them and provide them with multiple benefits.
