Solana Foundation lookin’ for dope projects in their NFT Showdown competition

The Solana Foundation announced a contest for those NFT creators out there to submit their proposals to a panel of expert judges.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen Solana’s team workin’ hard to push the ecosystem forward and stay on the cutting edge of innovative products.

A pretty recent example was the integration of the ChatGPT plugin by Solana to access NFT transactions and offer users new features like wallet verification, NFT transactions, and more.

This time, Solana Foundation is callin’ all content creators planning to launch an NFT collection in the future to participate in their “NFT Showdown” competition.

One of the main goals of the Solana Foundation’s contest is to find projects that use blockchain tech in the best way possible, and apply it to real-world use cases.

By real-world use cases, we mean products that add value to everyday life, like fashion, entertainment, or even gaming, among others.

This way, participants can show off their digital collectible creations to a panel of expert judges. Then, the winners will get Solana Foundation’s support and ecosystem experts’ help to boost their projects and back their success.

According to their blog post, if you’ve got a creative concept and a dope business pitch you’re passionate about, you can apply for this NFT contest and get Solana tools that offer flexibility and scalability.

Partners supportin’ this initiative include companies like Dialect, Tensor, Backpack, Magic Eden, and more. Among the prizes, winners will also be eligible for Creator tickets to Solana’s Breakpoint event, happening from October 30th to November 3rd, 2023.

Austin Federa, Solana’s current head of strategy, said that the NFT Showdown was created to push a change in how NFT brands design their business strategies before launch. They gotta consider what it’ll take to achieve long-term success as an NFT project.

Tiffany Huang, head of marketing at leading marketplace Magic Eden, backed Austin Federa’s idea and added that this competition will bring new skilled peeps to the ecosystem, as well as generate fresh ideas and strengthen the quality of new NFT projects.

Participants gotta present their projects to the judges before early June. After that, 10 projects will be selected and get Solana Foundation’s support to refine their projects and do what’s needed to steer ’em in the right direction.
