The Smurfs Society, the official Smurfs project, was at the NFT Paris event and auctioned Smurf statues made from recycled plastic and 3D to fund initiatives dedicated to protecting the oceans.
The official project that has as its main character the iconic cartoon The Smurfs, was present at the “NFT Paris” event.NFT Paris“which was held at the Grand Palais Ephémère and featured a live performance by street artist André Saraiva, who made statues of the Smurfs out of recycled plastic and 3D printed. The statues were painted and auctioned to fund initiatives dedicated exclusively to protecting the oceans.

However, to put some context to this note, The Smurfs Societyis an official Smurfs Web3 project and is an NFT collection launched in December 2022. Currently, an innovative blockchain game was launched and is in DappRadar’s Top100 as one of the most active Web3 communities worldwide.
The goal of the project is to harness the power of blockchain technology and grow digital communities to unite collective interests with individual rewards while inspiring, funding and driving positive actions like this latest one at the NFT Paris event.
NFT Parisis one of the biggest events surrounding the non-fungible token ecosystem and The Smurfs Society was present alongside French street artist André Saraiva. This event held at one of the most important events of the NFT industry is a clear example of what the team of The Smurfs Society is looking for. The Smurfs Society team plans to do in the future with the mission of becoming one of the leading projects of the NFT ecosystem and at the same time, helping different activities to care for and protect the planet.
How the Smurfs statues were made
First, The Smurfs Society partnered with Colossus, who took it upon themselves to collect recycled plastic from recycling garbage cans like the ones placed around the NFT Paris event and subsequently, transformed that plastic into a giant, 10-foot-tall Smurf sculpture.
Last Saturday, February 25, André during the NFT Paris event painted the giant statue, but 10 smaller scale statuettes were also added. In total, the 11 statuettes were attached to different unique NFT certificates and auctioned on the Rarible platform. A large part of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to ocean protection initiatives.

Moreover, the project will launch the PFP collection in spring 2023 and there will be exceptional collaborations with featured artists and partnerships with multiple exclusive Web3 communities, as, The Smurfs Society team’s goal is to position itself as one of the most important communities in the NFT and Web3 ecosystem in the world.

About the auction
The auction for the Smurf figurines that were designed and presented at NFT Paris, will be available at Raribe and the original NFTs will be burned after replacing them with an official NFT, designed by André. They will be included in the Legendary PFP collection of Smurfs Society.
What is Rarible
If you do not know Rarible, this project is an aggregated marketplace that focuses on leading communities of NFTs. It was launched in 2019 by Alexei Falin and Alex Salnikov, and is mainly used by artists and collectors looking to create, collect and trade different types of digital assets in the format of non-fungible tokens.In addition, it supports multiple blockchains and had an exponential and rapid growth, as, it is currently one of the NFT marketplace marketplace most widely known and used by crypto-users.
It is also backed by Venrocka New York-based venture capital firm that invests in information technology, healthcare and energy companies. It was founded in 1969 by Laurence S. Rockefeller and has since invested in successful companies such as Intel, Apple, DoubleClick and many more.
CoinFund is another investment firm that relies on Raribe. This firm that is more associated with cryptocurrency investments is based in Brooklyn and was founded in 2015 by Jake Brukman.
Finally, CoinFund invests in cryptocurrency and blockchain projects that are in the early stages of development and provides resources to help companies grow and succeed.
