PUBG creator unveils NFT gaming platform for Metaverse

This is one of the plans established for 2023 by Krafton, one of the developers of the game, which has become one of the most popular battle-royale games worldwide.

In recent years, we have seen that the implementation of the benefits offered by Web3 and NFTs have taken their place in the gaming ecosystem with boundless success, adding extra value to users by which they can enjoy unique benefits and experiences.

Some of the most recent antecedents on this subject include the launch of the first NFT game, the first NFT game game from Epic Games for the month of September 2022, as well as the last steps taken by Square Enix for the development of its first NFT game, which is very close to its launch, called Symbiogenesis.

In mid-March, from the team of PUBG team published an official statement on their website regarding its roadmap for 2023. Among the updates and improvements they detailed regarding the game, they also communicated their intentions to enter the Web3 and NFTs terrain.

Kraftonthe South Korean studio in charge of the development of Player Unknowns Battlegrounds or better known as PUBG, has announced days ago the launch of a new platform of NFT games related to the Metaverse.

This Web3 platform is called Migaloo, and is currently under development, which is expected to be officially launched in 2023. For this, Krafton has made an investment of approximately $36.8 million dollars for the development of the platform, and Naver Z is another of the main companies investing in the project.

Migaloo intends to offer a“Create-to-Earn” (C2E) system, whereby users will be able to create and trade in-game digital assets as non-fungible tokens. Some sources claim that Migaloo will look similar to what we know from Roblox, but with the implementation of NFTs.

Through the Create-to-Earn system, content creators will be given the possibility to work on works in the metaverse, where users can buy and own through the use of NFTs.

Brendan Greene, one of the developers of PUBG, stated that they are creating a digital space. Therefore, it must have an economy and systems that work. So, he believes that you should be able to extract value from a digital space, where you can do things that allow you to make money.

Likewise, the official data that have been released do not include many clarifications, leaving many things to be clarified or to be discovered as the development of the new platform progresses over time.

Chang-wook Kim, the CEO of Naver Z, expressed that it is a great opportunity to witness the birth of a very innovative metaverse platform that will introduce a new C2E system, which also has the potential to transform the way content creators are being motivated and rewarded.
