Grammy tie-in with NFT platform

The Recording Academy has entered into a partnership with OneOf, an NFT platform, for the realization of collections of non-fungible tokens related to the famous awards ceremony.

This is one of the many milestones that contribute to the link between music and web3. Thanks to blockchain technology and NFTs, they contribute to the inclusion of many artists throughout Latin America.

With the upcoming Latin Grammy Awards just days away, they have announced a tie-up with a large NFT platform named OneOf. The Academy has informed that they have signed a 3-year contract with the OneOf platform. One of the announcements they have made is that the winners of the respective Grammy Awards will also receive an NFT as a prize.

According to official information, the first NFT collection will be distributed throughout the month of October 2022 (even before the event), in which they will perform various drops aimed at celebrating Latin music.

The NFT platform, called OneOf, is developed on the Tezos and Polygon blockchain, both using the Proof of Stake protocol. Adam Fell, one of the co-founders of the platform and president of Quincy Jones Productions, mentioned that the annual Latin Grammy Awards is one of the most important events of the year for Latin music, and the link between the two entities will bring fans much closer than in previous years. He also stated that it is an honor for OneOf to collaborate with the Latin Grammy Awards and to star in the first Latin Grammy NFT’s.

On the other hand, Manuel Abud, CEO of Premios Grammy Latinos, highlighted the opportunity for Latin music lovers to get a piece of the Latin Grammys.

In previous years, several music artists have been interested in exploiting the tools offered by web3 blockchain. Shakira in September 2021 announced the NFT collection called La Caldera. Another well-known artist has been Thalia, who has participated in parties held in the metaverse.

ONEOF

It is a NFT platform designed to create a sustainable experience for the environment, and protects both creators and the public. In addition, it provides artists and brands interested in mining and developing their NFT’s on its platform with $0 transaction fees on the blockchain.

One of its major goals is to be able to bring the next 100 million enthusiasts who have not yet engaged with blockchain and non-fungible tokens into the web3 world by removing the necessary obstacles and allowing them to pay for their NFTs with credit or debit cards, as well as cryptocurrencies.

In addition, this platform collaborates with various charitable causes, offering options to donate part of the proceeds from the sale of NFTs to the charity of your choice.

As background, the OneOf platform has collaborated with eBay by launching a collection of NFTs on U.S. athletes and sports legends.
