FOREO becomes the first skin care brand to launch its new products in non-fungible token versions, even before their launch date.
As we have been announcing from NFTexpress throughout the last months, day by day more and more actors continue to join the NFT field as in the metaverse. Getting involved in the metaverse is not only a trend, it is to anticipate and be part of new methodologies to generate relationships, workspaces, new sources of production, business, among many other things.
In addition, not only individuals are involved in this new virtual world, but also major international brands, real estate groups, celebrities, even governments around the world are involved in various ways. An example of this can be seen with the note we published about the South Korean city that plans to build its replica in the metaverse. On the other hand, the registration of trademarks and patents in the virtual world is also booming, to protect the rights of the authors of various NFTs.
In this case, it is worth noting that the launch of beauty NFTs are driving digital innovation in this field, since with the spread of non-fungible tokens in these trends, brands can address other variables in addition to traditional sales.
Leading beauty company FOREO is the first skincare brand to launch digital versions of its products as NFT. In addition to this, they will donate the proceeds from digital sales to three charities, with the company’s goal of promoting the health of the skin and mind.
FOREO is a Swedish brand that has developed a series of 5 different NFTs, each representing a product from the latest collection of products the brand has launched, the LUNA range.
Each NFT will be available in 50 variants, so if we do the math for the 5 different varieties of NFT they have announced, it gives users the possibility to access a limited edition of 250 NFT. In addition, FOREO is launching a special edition of NFTs that can only be purchased through an auction.
As stated by the company through its official website, from September 9 to 30, the proceeds from all sales of NFTs made with Solana on its platform will be donated directly to charities to help people with mental health difficulties and those with various skin problems.
Such benefits will include proceeds from the auctions, as well as royalties from subsequent sales of the NFTs, thus strengthening the company’s commitment to destigmatize mental health issues.
In turn, FOREO announces on their site that the launch of their flagship product called LUNA 4, is going to start in the virtual space of the Metaverse, making them the first facial care company to launch a virtual product.
On the other hand, in the NFT section of its official website, FOREO has left some FAQs, among which we can find questions such as whether the NFT are authentic and if they can be copied, to which the company states that the NFT are unique and impossible to copy, in addition to the originality of the digital asset is ensured by blockchain technology, which means that no 2 NFT are the same, and therefore are called non-fungible tokens.
