Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, announced the launch of his first collection of NFTs. It is called “Trump Card” and is available on his official website. CollectTrumpCards.com.

However, at the time of writing this article, the collection is sold out, as all the collectible cards in NFT format of the renowned businessman and former U.S. president have been sold.

As we review daily at NFTexpress, non-fungible tokens are unique digital assets that cannot be replicated or exchanged for other tokens. Typically, they are used to represent ownership of digital art or even collectibles.

The Donald Trump NFT collection is based on a series of digital cards depicting the former president in various iconic poses and situations.

Also, there are two levels of Trumps Cards, a standard edition and a limited edition. The standard edition cards were sold at a fixed price of $99 each, while the limited edition cards will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Is Trump’s NFT collection political?

Although Donald Trump is a former president of the United States and his link to politics is clearly visible in all his actions, the website states that the money raised will not be used for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

On the other hand, there are mixed opinions about the sale of NFTs of the former president with his image, as some have pointed out possible ethical and legal issues surrounding the sale of the cards. While, the launch and the project seems that it will give real utility to those lucky enough to win the draws as the opportunity to meet him both physically and virtually. Also, many users are questioning whether Trump truly has the legal right to profit from his time in office as president and sell NFTs with his image on them.

The sale of these cards undoubtedly raised questions as to whether the former president is using his political influence to generate personal profits. Likewise, at the time of this article, his NFTs are sold out and he has sold all the collectibles that were for sale.

Finally, the official website emphasizes that the NFTs are not managed or controlled by Donald Trump, nor by “The Trump Organization“, CIC Digital LLC, nor any of their respective principals or affiliates.

Also, they confirm that NFT INT LLC uses the name, likeness and image of Donal Trump under an official paid license from CIC Digital LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked in accordance with its terms.

Donald Trump’s NFTs a success?

Beyond the aforementioned criticisms, it is clear that the NFT collection of former U.S. President Donald Trump has generated a great deal of interest among collectors and investors to the point of selling out of all digital collectibles.

Many saw the collection as a unique opportunity to own a piece of U.S. political history and others will look forward to seeing the potential profits that the limited edition cards can bring and so far, it has not been confirmed that there will be more.

In addition, the inclusion of the crypto ecosystem has generated that cryptoinvestors also participate in this new collection, since, beyond being able to be purchased with a credit card, they were also available for purchase with wETH (wrapped ethereum) and the NFTs were created under the Polygon network.

Finally, it is clear that the former president with his recent return to Twitter and this launch of NFTs is making waves in the world of politics and now technology.
