The Japanese-American DJ and producer arranged his participation in The Sandbox to be part of one of the largest metaverses and virtual lands in the crypto industry.
Steve Aoki will release together with The Sandbox a collection of 3333 different avatars, each one will have the possibility to be usable and playable within the virtual world. They were released on July 27 at 14:00 UTC and cost 100 SAND which is equivalent to about 134 USD and users got from two to four depending on when they did it.
These 3333 avatars have different traits and qualities, as well as being categorized from the most common called ‘Human’ with 35% of creations, to the rarest called ‘Gold’ which will only have 2% of creations of these NFTs.
Aoki, one of the most famous DJs in the electronic music industry, was recognized by DJ Mag magazine, which is based in England and since 1991 brings all the news and updates of electronic music.
He is also one of the founders of the record label Dim Mak Records and has hits such as Bella Ciao, Nataaoki, Azukita and Delirious, among others.
The DJ is already dabbling in the crypto ecosystem, blockchain and NFTs. In his last interview with CoinDesk he told that he is passionate about the whole world of these new technologies and that he earned more with non-fungible tokens than in his entire career as a music artist.
Among its projects, investments and sales in this crypto space is its own website A0K1VERSE with the objective of generating benefits and exclusivity to people who acquire its NFTs. Among them are:
Free Steve Aoki tour tickets for hundreds of dates worldwide.
Digital and physical collectibles.
Clothing, accessories and exclusive access to collaborations.
Performances in the virtual metaverse.
Much more.
In this way, Aoki offers tokens and passports in the form of NFTs for those who want to participate in all these exclusivities and benefits in its A0K1VERSE.
Another of the profits he made was nearly $900,000 for selling his NFTs called “Dream Catcher” from Nifty Gateway, one of the best-known online art auction platforms founded by Duncan and Griffin Cock Foster and later acquired by the Winklevoss twins. It consisted of 11 digital and audiovisual pieces, only some of them, i.e. the rarest ones, came with a physical object.
Also, he partnered with the Stoopid Buddy Stoodios team, an animation company and studio founded in 2005 to launch Dominion X, a series of videos in the form of chapters where he reflects the life and history of Character X, an animated character and his fantastic world. If you want to know more you can watch the first chapter. here.
His idea was to launch the first TV series on blockchain, where the characters are non-fungible tokens. Aoki said he feels personified by the creature, who finds himself on a completely new planet, where he meets living beings all the time and discovers new adventures as the American-Japanese DJ is always ready to join.
Finally, we will see Aoki already deep into this whole industry, that with The Sandbox NFTs he will be able to reach many, many more people and become known in the NFT industry more and more. The 44-year-old Florida-born producer sees The Sandbox metaverse platform as an explosion of creativity and imagination for people who like to create and make quirky and fun things.
