Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Launches NFT Digital Rewards Collection in Partnership with Avalanche and Bowlero

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) has confirmed the launch of its NFT collection with the aim of delivering approximately 300,000 digital rewards to professional league players. The project was powered by the Avalanche blockchain and Bowlero, the parent company of PBA.

The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), popularly known as PBA, has announced the launch of their new digital rewards in NFT format in collaboration with the Avalanche blockchain and Bowlero, the parent company of the Professional Bowlers Association.

Together, these three companies have also announced that the digital rewards will be named “League Bowler Certification” (LBC), and will be used to recognize various bowling achievements that will be freely distributed to approximately 300,000 players in the Bowlero league.

Furthermore, the PBA LBC rewards are part of the fourth project under the PBA League Bowler Certification program. The aim is to innovate in different areas of the sport, and as a result, they have formed multiple partnerships with exclusive companies in the Web3 ecosystem.

Firstly, they have partnered with Layer 3 Labs, a software company specialized in creating digital markets using Web3 technology. They have also formed an alliance with LeaguePals, a cloud-based league management project. Additionally, they have collaborated with AVA Labs, one of the leading platforms in Avalanche blockchain development.

As mentioned earlier, they have confirmed their partnership with Avalanche to launch an innovative program that offers modern rewards and features, including blockchain-backed bowling player certifications and an NFT marketplace to showcase the digital rewards of the players.

What will the digital prizes be like in NFT format?

PBA explained that the first phase of the PBA LBC rewards will include the opportunity for bowlers to earn digital rewards for achieving various defined milestones. To earn these NFT rewards, bowlers must be active members of PBA LBC with an account on LeaguePals and achieve specific objectives, which include:

  • First game of 200
  • Bowling a 300 game
  • Series of 700 and 800
  • 50 pins over average
  • 100 pins over average

For each unlocked achievement, players will receive a digital reward that can be viewed and shared on multiple social media platforms through the new digital marketplace, built and powered by Avalanche Subnet, the customized and application-specific blockchain that will cater to the program’s needs.

Jonathan Teplitsky, CEO of Layer 3 Labs, also commented on the partnership between their project and PBA, stating that the digital marketplace developed by their company to showcase the NFT digital rewards will provide a unique and unprecedented opportunity for players to capture their most important and iconic moments in their favorite sport.

Additionally, PBA shared the second phase of the LBC Rewards, where they confirmed the introduction of a new points-based system. Beyond earning NFT digital rewards, players will be able to accumulate points for each of their achievements. These points can then be redeemed for various exclusive offers and prizes. The goal is to build a strong community of bowlers who receive innovative tangible benefits to commemorate their accomplishments on the bowling lanes.

John Nahas, Vice President of Business Development at Ava Labs, commented that they are excited to see PBA choose Avalanche as the official blockchain for their push into new certifications and digital rewards for professional players. He also added that Ava Labs‘ collaboration with PBA will bring a new form of rewards to players, as digital rewards will help maintain competition among PBA bowlers.

Bill Savasano, Co-Founder and CEO of League Pals, also expressed his thoughts on the series of partnerships between Web3 projects and the Professional Bowlers Association. Bill stated that the integration developed by his company in collaboration with PBA and Layer 3 Labs is a transformative step for bowlers, as they aim for success in the future of professional leagues in a popular sport worldwide.
