A novel functionality has been unveiled by OKX, introducing to its wallet the option to view and transfer your Bitcoin Ordinals NFT through its multi-chain platform.
The revolution caused by the birth of Bitcoin Ordinals continues to generate repercussions and growth in terms of this protocol. In a nutshell, these are the new NFTs that emerged at the beginning of 2023, and which in turn are the first to be developed on the Bitcoin blockchain.
To make a brief review of the news that we have communicated from NFTexpress in this regard, we can start by mentioning the launch of Ordinals Protocol for the month of February 2023, inaugurating the category of non-fungible tokens on the Bitcoin network.
Then, we mentioned the launch of the first marketplace to create Bitcoin Ordinals called Gamma.io. Subsequently, wallets started to emerge whose main purpose is to store these Ordinals NFTs.
OKX, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume and a leader in Web3 technology, has announced an update to its OKX Wallet and its NFT marketplace, to provide various functions linked to NFT Bitcoin Ordinals.
On the one hand, they have incorporated a new functionality for viewing and transferring Bitcoin Ordinals together with an update they have developed for their NFT marketplace and wallet.
This way, OKX Wallet will currently start to support BTC Taproot addresses through its wallet browser extension. They have also announced that it will soon be available for the mobile version as well.
Therefore, with the addition of Bitcoin Ordinals or Bitcoin NFT to OKX Wallet, it becomes the first multi-chain platform to provide this type of support to users.
A novel addition that OKX has inaugurated in its NFT marketplace since the first days of March is the possibility to buy NFT Ordinals using the ETH cryptocurrency (native to the Ethereum blockchain).
In addition, they announced upcoming updates that will be available in their marketplace, among which we can mention the possibility to mine and exchange Ordinals in their NFT platform. Consequently, users will be able to create NFT Ordinals and sell them directly on their marketplace.
Haider Rafique, chief marketing officer of OKX, expressed that Ordinals are an incredible development on the Bitcoin ecosystem. In addition, OKX Wallet is a product developed to be the most interoperable and user-friendly all-in-one crypto wallet.
For his part, Jason Lau, who holds the role of chief innovation officer at OKX, said in a statement that they have been following the exponential growth of Bitcoin Ordinals, and that is why they are excited to offer the best experience for users to visualize and interact with their NFTs on various blockchains.
On the other hand, he remarked that the platform has support for BTC Taproot addresses to contribute to more economical and compatible transactions for users who have their OKX Wallet.
