Alex Greenwood, defender for Manchester City, has joined forces with OKX, one of the industry leaders in the Web3 space, to launch a new NFT drop featuring three sneakers in the official metaverse of the brand.

Manchester City continues its path towards technological innovation in the Web3 industry, and they have officially introduced defender Alex Greenwood as a partner of OKX Metaverse to develop and release three pairs of NFT sneakers in the project called “OKX Collective”.
This new initiative follows the previous collaboration between Manchester City and renowned designer Jonathan Nash. In this case, Nash worked together with Greenwood to design three sports footwear in NFT format. These sneakers will be distributed through the official training team brand of the English club, which is currently in the Champions League semi-finals.
The sneakers have been named “Adaptable,” “Calm and Patience,” and “Commitment and Passion.” Greenwood chose these names because she believes these attributes are crucial for success in sports.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the non-fungible tokens will be available for free as part of the ‘AG5 x OKX’ collection on the NFT Marketplace OKX. They can already be found on display within the metaverse, which can be downloaded on both MAC and Windows devices.
Alex Greenwood expressed her enthusiasm about this collaboration with OKX, stating that working with the Web3 services brand was excellent. She also mentioned that the sneakers give an idea of how she approaches the challenges within the team and on the field.
Haider Rafique, Global Marketing Director of OKX, also commented on this partnership and release with Alex. He stated that the company’s goal is to create and enhance a virtual environment while launching immersive experiences with desirable goals and items that fans are eager to obtain and collect.
Lastly, he mentioned that this is an incredible way to engage Manchester City fans, as well as football fans in general, by allowing them to interact with their favorite athletes.

As I mentioned earlier, Manchester City already has several projects involving NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and the Metaverse, among other innovative technologies. For example, in commemoration of “International Women’s Day,” they collaborated with a leading NFT ecosystem brand called “Power Of Woman.”
The collection was named ‘EMPOWERED‘ and featured unique designs inspired by Mancunian Emmeline Pankhurst, a British political activist and leader of the suffragette movement, who played a key role in fighting for women’s voting rights in Britain.
In April of this year, Manchester City also unveiled their NFT collection in collaboration with renowned artist Jonathan Nash. The collection, titled ‘Space Ballers,’ showcased different artworks that portrayed football training in a fun and space-themed manner.
